What’s Up Meerkats?

Hi all! It’s time for a little update. So what’s happening at the studio?

Arto and Petteri have returned from their vacation and are currently testing the results of our couple week crunch period. Petri and Samu are busy fixing all the bugs that the testers have found. Jouko has worked on the new trailers and drawn a couple of new wallpapers that will be released shortly. I just finished the game’s online manual and I will do some trailer design before returning to testing and balancing the game.

While talking about the trailers… Have you seen the three Lead the Meerkats trailers that we have released? Here is some info on those…

The debut trailer is about the story, animals and the game concept. It was first shown at this year’s E3 Expo three months ago. The level that is shown in this trailer is a small test level that isn’t part of the final game. The music used in this trailer is the demo track that Stakula composed last spring.

The first lesson trailer is now two weeks old. These short trailers show off the game features in small chunks. The first one is about the burrows, the second one is about the meerkats and the third one will be about the predators. If you compare these trailers to the debut trailer, you can see how the graphics, effects and animations have evolved during the two months of development. The music used in these trailers is the game’s main theme that is played in the title screen and main menu.
